I had an awesome time at the 2023 Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) Annual Conference in Vancouver, BC. Having the opportunity to speak about service-learning was such a pleasure. The topic of my talk is:
“Cohesive Integration of Service-learning Components in Interior Design Senior Capstone Studio Courses.”
I immersed myself in service learning as a Service-Learning Fellow in the Service-Learning Fellow's Program at Purdue University. My presentation demonstrates the process of developing, and enhancing service-learning in interior design senior capstone courses, shares my research in service-learning, and how research is emphasized in my studio class so that design decisions are informed by research evidence.

"Universal Design Principles are utilized in the project to create an environment that accommodates individuals' differences, abilities, and disabilities. Getting a better understanding of how design can positively impact people’s lives and help people reach their highest potential." – One of the Learning Objectives
It has been a great experience of attending conferences to speak, listen, share, and recharge for my research and scholarship. Absolutely enjoy!
